Dual vocational training

Combines training with professional development

The projects of Dual training combine the provision of a Professional certificate with a employment contract in a company. This allows students to apply the knowledge acquired in a real environment and increase their chances of finding employment at the end of the programme.

This project belongs to line 2 Vocational Schools, which consists of 2 phases:

Preliminary Phase

The training program “Basic Restaurant and Bar Operations” is delivered at Level I, with a duration of 210 teaching hours and 80 hours of non-work internships in companies.

This phase is scheduled to take place from March 20, 2024, to June 6, 2024.

Students achieve:

  • Level I Professional Certificate in the specialty of “Basic Restaurant and Bar Operations”
  • Professional experience as a Waiter/Waitress Assistant through non-work internships in companies.
  • Preparation for the next main phase of the project.

Main Phase

In this phase, training is combined with work. The Level II training program “Bar and Café Services” is delivered with a duration of 560 hours, alternating with paid work activity for the student/worker through a work-based training contract lasting 1,600 hours.

This phase is scheduled to take place from July 1, 2024, to May 27, 2025. In this phase, theoretical training hours account for 35%, while paid work activity in companies accounts for 65%.

Students achieve:

  • Level II Professional Certificate in the specialty of “Bar and Café Services”

 

  • Paid work and professional experience through an employment contract in the position of Waiter/Waitress, with a duration of 1,600 hours over 10.67 months.

 

  • Upon completion of the project, at least 31.25% of the students/workers will be offered continued employment.
